Chlamydia Voucher Self Checklist

This information is for people who have tested positive for Chlamydia through the Lothian Sexual Health Service and can collect treatment from a local pharmacy.

Before you can safely collect treatment for a Chlamydia infection, please carefully read the list below to ensure you are eligible.

We recommend that any recent sexual contacts should also get tested for Chlamydia, so please notify your recent partners to contact their local sexual health clinic. You should not have sex with recent partners until they have a negative test, or finish treatment themselves.

We advise you should not have any sexual contact for the seven days you take the antibiotics.

Your Chlamydia voucher will expire in 14 days.

Please contact Chalmers to speak to a nurse on 0131 536 2108 before you collect your treatment if:

You have one or more of the symptoms listed below:
swelling of the lymph nodes
swelling or pain at the anus
recent pain in your lower abdomen
pain in your testicles
pain inside the vagina when having vaginal sex
pain inside the anus when having anal sex
abnormal or unscheduled bleeding from the vagina or anus
a high temperature or you feel very unwell

You are pregnant, suspect you may be pregnant or you are breast feeding

You have had a termination of pregnancy within the last 4 weeks

You have had an Intra-uterine contraceptive device (a coil) inserted in the last 4 weeks

You have any severe kidney or liver disease.

You have a condition called Systemmic Lupus Erythematous or Myasthenia gravis

You are allergic to Doxycycline

You are taking other medications which may interact with Doxycycline
