Chalmers Gender Identity Clinic

Welcome! The Chalmers Gender Identity Clinic (GIC) in Edinburgh provides specialist care for adults experiencing gender incongruence or gender dysphoria who live in Lothian, Fife, or the Scottish Borders.

The clinic offers assessment, support, access to medical interventions and ongoing care in line with national clinical guidance. We aim to provide a respectful, inclusive, and person-centred service.

What we do at the Chalmers Gender Identity Clinic

The Gender Identity Clinic supports adults who are exploring or experiencing distress related to their gender identity. Our service is comprised of a specialist multidisciplinary team and we focus on understanding each person’s individuals’ needs and circumstances in order to provide holistic trauma informed gender care.

Who is the Chalmers Gender Identity Clinic For

The Gender Identity Clinic is for:

  • Adults aged 17 and over who are registered with a GP in Lothian, Fife, or the Borders
How to Access the Chalmers Gender Identity Clinic

We ask that you access the Gender Identity Clinic through a GP referral.
