Community transmission of clade Ib MPOX has been reported for the first time in four European countries (Italy, Portugal, Spain and the Netherlands), the USA and Malaysia. Some of these cases have been among gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM). We would encourage GBMSM to complete an MPOX vaccination course of 2 doses – to reduce the chance of acquiring MPOX if you are in contact with someone who has the virus, or to make the symptoms less severe if you are infected.
